Charlies House Charlie House Big Build – Big Build

Charlie House was founded in 2011, with the goal of improving quality of life for babies, children and young people in the north east of Scotland who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and to provide support for their families. In 2018 we launched the Big Build Appeal to raise £8m to build a dedicated support centre in Aberdeen so that families don’t need to travel over 100 miles to get the specialist support they need.

If you would like more information, please get in touch with our friendly team at bigbuild@charliehouse.org.uk or on 01224 313333.

We work with over 750 children and young people from the Torry community, from babies/toddlers in Little Noise, nursery and primary school-aged children at our partner primary schools Walker Road and Tullos, to older young people at our Partner secondary school Lochside Academy, plus children who live in Torry but attend school elsewhere.

We also run a weekly community orchestra, where parents and other community members come together to learn an instrument and gain musical skills, supported by Big Noise musicians.

In the years ahead we will grow with these children to support them through their school careers, and we will recruit new children every year too. Big Noise Torry will eventually offer a pathway from babies through to adults – learning music immersively together. Everything at Big Noise is free of charge.
