2011: Raised funds for UNICEF. We went on UNICEF ‘Trek for the Children’ through the rocky part of Jordan ending up in Petra. A wonderful trip and met lots of wonderful people. A ceilidh was the central party of out fundraising in a local village hall it was a great start.
Whilst in Jordan we visited 2 schools where UNICEF were operating. They had trained more than 1500 girls to become peer educators, promoting inclusion and the power of sport as well as advocating girls’ right to play.

2016: Back to the village hall for another ceilidh, this time in aid of the Scottish Refugee Council and Medecins Sans Frontières. The format had taken shape and was used in a social, significant birthday, ceilidh in 20188 as well.l
2021: Whilst being zapped by the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Radiotherapy team for prostate cancer it transpired that most of the RT team had not been to a ceilidh. So, as a big thank you, we moved to the grand Beach Ballroom and laid on a ceilidh for the team (see the About Page).
